The Buyer is accountable to source and purchase goods within one or more product categories and is accountable for sales, gross margin, and inventory turn for those categories.  
 
Essential Responsibilities

• Builds a five year annual strategic plan
• Develops semi-annual merchandise plans
• Develops product and sets design directions in conjunction with the design team
• Sources, negotiates, and purchases goods within one or more categories
• Develops seasonal assortment vision
• Ensures ongoing testing as required by the category to adhere to quality standards
• Suggests and/or builds product assortment and pricing for flyer
• Provides input into and approves branding, hang tags, product trims, lab dips, and fabric choices
• Participates in seasonal theme and color palettes reviews
• Collaborates with the Planner and Analyst on monthly forecast reviews, markdowns, and repeats providing insights in to selling patterns and impacts
• Conducts fittings and fit advisories
• Conducts market research
   
  Requirements:
   
• 4+ years of sourcing, procurement, and retail experience
• University degree in a related discipline or related working experience
• Awareness of the fashion, footwear, and apparel industries
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
• Excellent PC skills including experience with MS Word and Excel
• Demonstrated relationship management skills
• Ability to act quickly and decisively
