National Sales Manager for Vans & Pro Tec Canada

 

Description

The Canadian Sales Manager is responsible for directing sales functions in Canada. Establish control-related standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

·       Grows sales and market share in region by forecasting and developing annual sales objectives by sales representative; identifying potential customers and under-performing accounts; increasing sales to accounts with higher potential and opening new accounts.

·       Maintains independent sales representatives by recruiting, selecting, coaching and evaluating reps; ensuring independent reps are trained to use company selling methods and tools; providing assistance with customer issues.

·       Maintains rapport with key customers by making periodic visits; resolving issues related to product, shipment and/or sales representative.

·       Approves returns and allowances up to the established limit for this position.

·       Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

·       Performs these and all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience

·       5+ years sales management experience

·       BA or BS degree in Sales, Business, or related field preferred or 5+ years sales management experience.

Skills

·       Strong understanding of Canadian Action Sports Market, footwear and apparel market. 

·       Experience in managing a diverse group of individuals and leading change. 

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills - English and French required. 

·       Ability to communicate information formally and informally. 

·       Proficient PC Skills - knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). 

·       Ability to make resolve problems and make decisions. 

·       Demonstrated ability to work with and inspire a broad range of individuals to work toward a common goal. 

·       Must have a track record in implementing processes and executing. 

·       Demonstrated understanding of retail math and logistics

·       Demonstrated ability to build business partnerships

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements

·       Frequent travel required (approx. 60%)

·       Willing and able to work additional hours as needed

·       Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items varying in weight from 1 to 25lbs, depending on need
